Surveillance plans
Pre- and post-operational monitoring of an area, whether protected or not, is vitally important for detecting potential changes in the ecosystem, as well as for evaluating and quantifying them on a spatial and temporal scale.

Water quality studies
The physical, chemical, and biological parameters of water give us an idea of its condition and environmental quality, indicating its degree of healthiness and/or pollution. Water is an essential element for the life of the species that inhabit it, serving as a good bioindicator of its condition.

Sediment studies
Physical studies of sediment help us understand sediment dynamics, while chemical and biological studies allow us to assess the state of sediment health and understand how anthropogenic activities affect the environment.

Taxonomic studies
The structure of both marine and terrestrial fauna and flora communities is strongly influenced by the nature of their surrounding environment. Understanding and classifying the organisms in these communities into groups, families, and/or species provides invaluable information for understanding spatial and temporal changes in populations.
